Elder Interview Project 1996

The series consists of Elder Interviews conducted by Billy-Joe Laboucon. Fourteen out of twenty-four sound recordings have been transcribed. Elder Interviews were conducted in the communities of Swan River First Nation, Horse Lake First Nation, Sturgeon Cree Nation, Kapawe’no First Nation, Sucker Creek First Nation, Driftpile Cree Nation and Duncan’s First Nation.

The series consists of Elder Interviews conducted by Gilbert Capot-Blanc. Six out of thirteen sound recordings have been transcribed. Elder Interviews were conducted in the communities of Whitefish First Nation, Kapawe’no First Nation, Swan River First Nation, Sucker Creek First Nation, Driftpile Cree Nation and Bigstone Cree Nation.

Elder Interviews were conducted in the communities of Sucker Creek First Nation, Kapawe’no First Nation, Sawridge First Nation, Swan River First Nation, Saddle Lake First Nation, Tsuu T’ina First Nation, Blood Tribe Kainai First Nation, Tallcree First Nation, Bigstone Cree Nation.

Elder Interviews were conducted in the communities of Sucker Creek First Nation, Little Red River Cree Nation, Fort Chipewyan First Nation (Athabasca Chipewyan), and Fort McKay First Nation.

The fonds consists of First Nation Elder Interviews conducted by the Lesser Slave Lake Indian Regional Council - Treaty Aboriginal Rights Research (LSLIRC-TARR) Program as support for the Program’s on-going treaty and aboriginal rights research and Specific Claims work. Predominantly interviews were done with Elders from Alberta Treaty 8 First Nation communities. The majority of the interviews have been transcribed.
