Unknown Treaty - Elder Interviews

This series pertains to elder interviews created post-1970 and were acquired by the Lesser Slave Lake Indian Regional Council - Treaty Aboriginal Rights Research (LSLIRC-TARR).The series consists of Elder Interviews conducted by Richard Lightning and Johnny Cardinal. The location at which they took place are currently unknown.

Treaty Annuity Paylist 1948-1955

The series consists of Annuity Treaty Paylists for Bigstone Cree Nation and Wabasca, as well as the general Alberta Lesser Slave Lake Indian Agency. The paylists are either bound in a hardcover book, or placed in folders. Records are typed with handwritten marginalia.

Treaty Aboriginal Rights Research Elder Interviews

The fonds consists of Elder Interviews acquired by Lesser Slave Lake Indian Regional Council Treaty and Aboriginal Rights Research (LSLIRC-TARR) by other TARR divisions and affiliated organizations to be used by the LSLIRC-TARR Program over the course of their research into treaty rights.Interviews were predominantly done with Elders from Alberta First Nation communities. Many interviews have been transcribed.

Treaty 7 - Elder Interviews

This series pertains to the interviews of elders within Treaty 7 that were created post-1970 and acquired by the Lesser Slave Lake Indian Regional Council - Treaty Aboriginal Rights Research (LSLIRC-TARR). Elder Interviews were conducted by Johnny Smith, Tom Yellowhorn, Dila Provost, Albert Yellowhorn, Mike Devine, Harry Shade, Kathleen, Eddie Hailaway, John Yellowhorn, and Richard Lightning. Elder Interviews were conducted in the communities of Piikani, Tsuut’ina, Kainai, Lethbridge, Morely, and Bearspaw.

Treaty 6 - Elder Interviews

This series pertains to the interviews of elders within Treaty 6 that were created post 1970 and acquired by the Lesser Slave Lake Indian Regional Council - Treaty Aboriginal Rights Research (LSLIRC-TARR). Elder Interviews were conducted by Louis Rain, Johnny Cardinal, Richard Lightning, Alexis Simon, Abraham Burnstick, Charlie Blackman, Rose Saddleback, Louie Crier, Phillip Soosay, Cyril Muskego, Roy Bonisteel, Joe Mackinaw, Ken Tyler. Thirteen out of 30 sound recordings have been transcribed. Elder Interviews were conducted in the communities of Cold Lake, Edmonton, Saddle Lake, Papaschase, Thunderchild, Onion Lake, Bighead, Alexander, Beaver Lake, Ermineskin, Samson, Mistawasis, Hobbema, East Prairie Colony, Sun Child, Whitefish SK, Sandy Lake, Pigeon Lake, Goodfish Lake, Smallboy Camp, Louis Bull, Montana, Alexis, O’Chiese, Rocky Mountain House, Frog Lake, and Keawin.
